AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL
https://youtu.be/DNJ740w8MvY
Back in May 2020, the San Diego Symphony had no way of knowing when or if we would ever return to the stage. Tim Saeger and I had produced a couple of duet videos at this point and thought we would try something a little larger. We rallied members of the brass and percussion sections of the San Diego Symphony and partnered with two photographers to bring Kyle Myers’ arrangement of America The Beautiful to life for Memorial Day.
Below is what I wrote at the time:
It’s Memorial Day here in the United States, a day when we remember those who lost their lives in service to this country. Our celebrations will look different this year. There won’t be parades or concerts and most likely no large picnics or barbecues, but we can all still take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Thank you to Kyle Myers (Kyle Myers Music) for this incredible and dramatic new arrangement. Thank you to photographers James South (Weatherford, OK jamessouth14@gmail.com) and Gregory W. Alley (Grand Rapids, MI http://www.tootertutor.com) for sharing their stunning images from across the U.S.
From all of us here in San Diego: thank you to the brave men and women of the United States military who lost their lives so we can live in this America The Beautiful.

Thank you (and the whole team) for creating this. Thank you, Chris, for sharing it again this year. A beautiful song, with a great message, and stunning images that match the words.
The picture of the cemetery at Arlington is a stark reminder of why today is special. _________________ Bach190ML43
