It's a system for exercising the embouchure, and amounts to a truly silent practice device. It works to both build the muscles needed for playing trumpet as well as improve coordination and efficiency. I have had one for over a year, and I try to use it regularly, although I do take periods of rest to avoid overuse of the facial muscles. The results are remarkable, especially with the new aperture tool. I would highly recommend picking one up. |

How does it have anything to do with the embouchure? My impression is that it is a device for measuring the compression in the oral cavity. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

It was an add-on when it first came out, but I think it's part of the standard kit now. |

It exercises the muscles of the embouchure. The measuring is just there to guide your use. For example, if your maximum compression is 100, you then do reps up to 80. Like you do if weight training.
You can use it anywhere, as it is totally silent. It improves and develops all the muscles of the embouchure. It works. _________________ "Nearly as good as I need to be. Not nearly as good as I want to be".
