Mahler 5: Opening
Beethoven: Leonore #s 2, 3
Strauss: Don Juan, Til Eulenspiegel

Getting myself a little picc for Christmas so will be trying to do some Telemann, Torelli, etc.

Hi Pat:

Remote instruction at school gave me some time and inspiration from Jim Wilt; Hakan Hardenberger; Elmer Churampi; Caleb Hudson; Brandon Ridenhour and Christopher Smith Youtube videos gave me the impetuous.

I am trying to continue practicing "40 Hours A Day" (as Two Set Violin would say) to inspire my students...and I have and had have some outstanding students...

Great choice, first orchestral piece I ever played, many, many moons ago, but still a favorite.

Not necessarily an often worked excerpt but working on some section work for Mahler 2. Love that piece. Very fun to listen to all of the other instruments' really cool parts while you rest forever

I would recommend to get hold of the book ¨Test pieces for orchestral auditions¨by Pliquett / Lösch from Edition Peters and start to memorize excerpts. I would recommend to explore using different pitched trumpets. Starting point is the C-trumpet but many excerpts are better on a higher pitched trumpet.
Good journey
