Does anyone have a good source for springs for Olds trombone-style water valve keys? None of the ones I see for sale seem to have the longer center bit like the originals. And the main slide spring is wider than the third slide spring. Any help in sourcing a pair would be much appreciated:

Not mine.
I found those pics on reverb. (And I'm not sure if those springs are original, either.) Mine is a '48 Special in need of an overhaul.

I was thinking due to the different color of the springs that one was not original.

Have you tried searching for trombone spare/replacement parts? Maybe some of those fit your Olds.

Looks like at least one of those photos is from one of my horns! Allied Supply sells a variety of springs for waterkeys, but they only sell to businesses. My guess is the ebay sellers that put together those kits of springs, felts and corks get them from Allied and then sell as a kit. The individual parts are not expensive when purchased in bulk, so there is a lot of mark up on those kits, but pretty tedious work to put those kits together and resell. You might message the seller of the kits and inquire about a modified kit to include a second (and smaller) trombone style waterkey spring. I'm sure they have some other springs on hand.

Any decent brass repair shop will likely have a large assortment of springs on hand and I'm sure they'd either put them on for you or sell you the right spring for the job.
