|
|
Does anybody have a work-around or a solution to the 921 first valve trigger offset to the right so I can more efficiently trigger with my left thumb?
Will a 928 straight trigger retrofit to a 921 (that would be the easiest, I would suppose)?
Thanks for your time. _________________ King Super 20 Trumpet; Sov 921 Cornet

Your tech might be able to change or modify the lever so it can be reached by your left thumb.
My Strad is set up with a right thumb trigger and I prefer to use it that way. It was hard for me to learn to kick the third slide out and press the lever, since for me pressing the trigger means squeezing my fingers together. So I just learned to use my right thumb. I realize that many feel the same as you do. |

Rusty, thanks. I am so left-handed, it is a wonder I can play valved brass with my right hand at all. So my right hand just will not multi-task beyond valves. It's like fingerpicking a standard guitar: my left hand is proficient with fretting, but it takes tons of work just to do simple picking rolls with my right hand. But I appreciate your post and your observation. _________________ King Super 20 Trumpet; Sov 921 Cornet

I used to have the medium bore version of that cornet and loved the first valve trigger. It's probably just a matter of what you are used to. _________________ B & H Sovereign 928

Well, nevermind. I got my 921 today. It turns out my left thumb is long enough that the offset 1st valve trigger is not an issue. Thanks to all who read and posted. I know some don't like the Sov 921, but mine is a 600xxx serial number, and it is GREAT with the classic Wick 4B. Thanks. _________________ King Super 20 Trumpet; Sov 921 Cornet
