You’ll need to stay light on your feet - but make great contact with each note if you want to find success with this etude!

Making good, hard contact with the notes requires us to play as closely down the middle of the horn as possible. Btw - I hear at least one orchestral excerpt in this etude - can you name which one it is?

We MUST exhibit control throughout our complete usable range. Which means we’ve got to actually practice throughout our complete usable range. Good luck with this one if you choose to work on it!

The faster we go, the less room for error. Accuracy will be key in this short etude!

This one has a little bit of everything - slurs, articulations, dynamics, and range. Have fun with this!

A little “vacation” from some of the more challenging Mini Etudes.

This seems like another instant “classic” trumpet etude. Lows, highs, slurring, tonguing - it’s all in this one!

A beautiful etude to work on lyrical and connective playing - both between notes and between registers.

You’ve gotta play in the upper register if you’re going to get better at it. And while you’re at it - do it slowly!

I love playing lyrical etudes… but I don’t enjoy playing lyrical etudes with a last note like the one we find here. Good luck everyone! LOL!

One of the more challenging etudes in this book, but ALL the grace notes are present and accounted for!

Opposites attract in this one - try to make the slurs as smoooooth as possible followed by playing the last few notes as short as possible. You SHOULD find that playing right down the middle will help with both of these aspects of trumpet playing.

Thanks, Chris. These are excellent little studies and your playing examples are superb!
