I understand you, it is not what I would like to do, I feel like lying.
What you say is: " Buy the horn in Thomann just to try it and after that send it back ".
I don't like to do that to a shop. I prefer to be fair and tell the truth. |

Is the price from Thomann more than you are willing to spend?
If the price is reasonable and you like the horn, why would you return it? _________________ Most Important Note ? - the next one !
KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'. |

Just I because want to try different " 3.000 euros Cornets " no see which one I like more. Nothing very strange when you spend 3.000 euros. |

No it is not.
In my explanation, I wasn't trying to say that this works out well for consumers, but that's how it works.
I also wouldn't say the model is broken, it's just that it doesn't give YOU what you want. Or more accurately, it doesn't give you what you want because the stores local to your area aren't interested in the stock you are. Obviously, there's a niche to be filled there - which IS filled by online music instrument retailers. But, since you're not interested in going that route, you're kind of out of luck.
Also, this is not a new issue. People have travelled to try out new instruments since for a long time. It used to be, if you wanted a Bach Strad, you either came to America (if you were overseas), maybe even to New York (or later Indiana) and tried them out for themselves. The shops that had them in Europe were far and few between. Some shops around the country carried them, but if you wanted something non-standard you either ordered it from Woodwind/Brasswind which was a mail order catalog or you drove to one of the big retailers - possibly 8-12 hours away - or came to the Bach factory, itself.
I remember I spent a few hours in a music store in Turku, Finland decades ago and tried out a BUNCH of horns because they had them. B&S C trumpets, Bach C trumpets, a Schilke 4 valve Eb, all kinds of stuff.
If you want a new model for retail, you'll have to come up with it yourself, I don't think the relevant parties feel like anything is wrong with the current one. _________________ LA Benge 3X Bb Trumpet

I have ordered fine horns from Thomann but realizing, after having played them, that they were not for me - so I have returned them - in the very same condition they arrived in. Taking extreme care keeping them that way.
The same goes for mouthpieces.
But then Thomann is a leading business, not some basement shop at the corner.
No problems at all. _________________ Cornets:

Sorry to be so disingenuous, but at this point all I'm hearing are excuses. Do you want to try the horn out or not? At this point, I feel like we're wasting our time. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

There is a law, anything that you BUY in internet you can try it and send it back if you don’t like it.
But one thing is buy something you think you will keep, and another is buying there three 3.000+ instruments in a shop, to later send two of them back.
And two of them the shop CAN NOT sell them as new, no matter how carefull you are.
Can I do that? Yes, do I think is fair for a shop ? No.
Do that and in 5 years you will not have any instrument shop in your city. Sad.
I don’t see the problem about wanting to 3 different pro horns, to choose one. |

So buy the horn, and if you don't like it and they won't take it back, call the police on them. What do you want us to do?
Of course, I would be surprised if the law applies to items where the purchaser has spit into, but what do I know? I'm not a lawyer. |

That "law" changes drastically depending on what country the buyer is in and where the the goods are coming from. You always can return it, but that doesn't mean that you will get any money back. The seller may refund some of the purchase price. Or they could charge a 100% restocking fee and keep the shipping cost.

It's perfectly reasonable to try before you buy. You pointed out why you can't do it by mail order; you will have to find a shop has the horns.
To try out horns I found a shop that had my choices available. It was only a 14-hour drive away. I bought the shiny one.

That's true.
But in Europe we have a common law, anything you buy in internet you can send it back no questions asked. And they have to give your money back.
You just pay the shipment.
Problem is, to try 3 different 3k instruments, and buy one, first you need 9k. |
