Title says it. Are current Getzen mouthpieces made in-house or "ghost" produced by someone else? Thanks, K- _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

Read this thread. 9th reply down is from the president of Getzen confirming made in Germany. I used google.. you should try it 😀. The thread is from 2007. I suggest calling or email to confirm.

It's probably Lausmann in Germany. I believe they used to make the Blessing line of mouthpieces as well - at least back when Blessing was a real maker with a factory in Elkhart. I have no idea what they do now.
I have some of the Lausman Blessing pieces and they're good, solid mouthpieces. _________________ LA Benge 3X Bb Trumpet

There has ben a lot of water under the bridge since 2007. There are a few people who visit the forum who keep up with this sort of thing. I was wondering if they had any current knowledge. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

Well, it Just seems like a trivial question to bother him with if it could be answered here, first. BTAIM, I did send him an email. Thanks for the address. K- _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

One thing I heard about Lausmann is that they do not sell their mouthpieces directly to individual customers. They are a stencil company, and they only accept bulk orders. Also, their customers may tell you they buy their mouthpieces from a company in Germany, but they almost never say it's from Lausmann. _________________ Enjoy the journey. |

With th exception of the Griego mouthpieces that come with our Custom and Custom Reserve trombones and the 4895 Custom Reserve flugelhorn, our mouthpieces are made by Lausman in Germany. They have a great operation and make mouthpieces for a lot of big names. Probably one of the largest mouthpiece producers nobody has heard of. _________________ Brett Getzen
