Is anyone familiar with Vincent Penzarella's 5 notes exercise?

Many years ago a teacher had me do that exercise, or possibly a variation of it, as a warm-up.

It consists of attacking 5 equal notes, same attack, dynamics, sound, etc.

I've been doing it for a few days, it's like a meditation for me, of course I haven't managed to hit 5 notes exactly the same, even so when I finish the exercise I feel mentally more focused on the practice, that's why I like it.

I recall the exercise. Do you play all pitches the same or do an interval for the last pitch?

No special interval for the last note. But sometimes I play an eighth note every two beats. Other times I play 5 sixteenth notes in a row. The metronome is usually around 60 beats per minute.

In yoga class we sometimes do a mindfulness exercise. This is similar.

Unfortunately I don't always have time to do yoga!!!

Vince had me make the 5th note an interval, going progressively up the scale:
CCCCC, CCCCD,CCCCE, etc. to the G on the staff.

If you want to make it a Stamp exercise, subdivide 16th notes on beat 4, before the interval. "Do what you do to get the higher note" only in the last 16th note of beat 4. That ensures that you don't bend the pitch upward before ascending. This would lead to a missed note or an uncentered note, which tires your chops.
