Hi guys, I play with Laskey and I like the rim a lot. What you suggest for other flat rims that are near to Laskey feel?

Laskey used Bud Herseth's rim style on all his mouthpieces. He merely adjusted the diameter to fit the size of the mouthpiece.
You can go here to see what mouthpieces might be close to the Laskey rim.
https://trumpet.cloud/mpc/
There are some Laskey mouthpieces there to compare other manufacturer's mouthpieces.

The old Dennis Najoom two piece mouthpieces. Based off an early 1C rim. Pretty flat with a good amount of bite.

I agree the Laskey rims are flat, but for me they are too narrow. I am using a James R New W5 rim (like a large Bach 3 ID, or small Bach 1.5 ID--IMHO, YMMV) on a number of my mouthpieces (New mpcs & some threaded Hammonds). The W rim is particularly wide, but flat without feeling like a deep dive into the cup. Definitely flatter than my Reeves 43W. Jame's mouthpieces are affordable with fast delivery. Highly recommended.

Every single Tilz mouthpiece I played had a flat rim.

I will say that the ACB rims are wide and maybe "flat" but IMHO have a peak close to the inner diameter that makes them feel sharp & uneven to me--especially the Gen II series. I have 1.5R Gen II and don't like it (currently for sale). Of course, everyone's chops are different and you may love it, but my 2 cents.

I think of some Warburtons as being flat. 2MC (USA) is flat for sure & scans of the Warb 4MC for sure. Warb 3 less so, IMHO (USA and pre-fire).

The Giardinelli flat mpcs are really flat. You can check them on the Kastul or trumpet.cloud comparator. I have a GIR6SF for sale, fwiw.

Patrick Mouthpieces offers most of their line with a flat rim option.

FR will precede mouthpiece numbering and lettering.

Modern Warburton rims are flat-ish not as flat as a Bach 1X which the Parke Orchestral rims are based on.

I’d definitely agree on the Giardinellis, they have a REALLY flat rim. Also goes for their trombone/bass trumpet pieces. The modern Warburtons I’m not so sure. They certainly are a little flatter than my ARs but nowhere near my Giardinelli or Tilz mouthpieces.

Matt Frost has a large library of scans including the backbores, cups and rims of many, many different mouthpieces -- including Laskey.

He could make you just about anything with a Laskey rim on it.

He may have something you are looking for. If you don't see it, email him and ask. He responds to emails pretty quickly.

Not sure how it compares to Laskey, but I love my Denis Wick MM4C, which has a rim that I would call flat. I have both the Heritage Series and the standard model, and the rim on the Heritage seems to be flatter than on the standard model.

Yeah, I have a Wick 4 and I would call that flat. Laskey mpcs, too. I love my James new W rims which are very wide and flat but not hardwood floors flat. Flatter feeling that a Reeves 43W. Just great for me. YMMV.

The flattest rim that I have ever seen is an old jet Tone DS with the A rim. It is pancake flat.
