Just saying hello to everyone!

I'm strictly an amateur who returned to the instrument when his son decided to play. We've been taking lessons together for the past 5 years and somewhere along the way we were introduced to his long tone and flow studies. The exercises are great but the prose regarding his philosophy was enlightening too. It changed my approach to the instrument.

Now I'm just trying to follow through and execute!

If I already have the Long Tone Studies and Flow Studies 1, is this addition meaningful?

Was this the tuba player with the limited lung function? Maybe one lung? Can't quite remember.

I don't know what you're referring to. Anecdotal, pedagogic. etc. about the polemics of the Chicago School (Herseth, Farkas, Schilke, Cichowicz) from one or its Titans.

I would say both books are a deeper dive into the philosophy behind things like Cichowicz? Long tones, etc.

Very good. The prose from the two books I've read already, is thoughtful. I'll be sure to follow up with these.

The lung thing is just something that I remember a teacher -- Tom Barna -- mentioning in high school. (decades ago!) I remember "symphony" "Chicago" "tuba" all being descriptors.
