|
|
Evening all.
I have a rather nice trumpet with stainless steel valves and I was wondering if anyone could give some guidance over what normal wear patterns would look like. I’ve not had a new horn with stainless valves before, or indeed any with such valves, so wanted to check I wasn’t seeing anything unusual or to be concerned about. As a guide they seem to work just fine, with smooth action but show some shiny bits in places I wasn’t expecting, though no galling or marks I can feel.
Many thanks in advance!

It would be best to link a picture of the valve areas of concern. I realize you are new to the forum, but another option would be to post in the “Horns” forum to get more views. The pics need to be posted on a picture app like Imgur and linked on the TrumpetHerald post. See link below on how to post a pic here.
Welcome to the TrumpetHerald site.
