Did Conte Candoli have a bone structure anomaly?

If you've seen Conte play you've seen those air pockets form on the sides of his nose. I can't create air pockets there even if I deliberately try to, there's simply no path for air to get there.

Did he gave some anomalous sinus issue or something that allowed that?

I think just over time air pockets just developed naturally…
My uncle was a lead/studio player and he sometimes played with some puffed cheeks and probably air pockets.. etc…
My family was very close to the Candoli brothers… was Triscari brothers and Candoli brothers on hundreds of recordings together…
I never heard he had that problem…

Murray McEachern, great trombonist, had those air pockets quite visible. Tremendous control, tone, range, and musicality
