|

My dear friends,
I am planning to purchase this trumpet, but on the bell is engraved only Hug&Co Zurich.
The seller does not know anything about it.
I presume that the maker is different.
Could anyone tell me who the real maker is?
Thank you all in advance.

alex2022 - the picture link does not work. Looks like there is some missing in the web address.

Looks like sort of a knock-off of an Olds Recording. _________________ "Strive for tone." -John Coppola

Looks like a Buffet American or a Evette and Schaeffer "stencil" from the 50s/60s, this one is cool as it has a rose brass bell and leadpipe.
I believe they're built in Germany or some other country in Europe.
These horns are "balanced" just like the Olds Recordings, Selmer Balanced ect.
These horns have a funny looking 3rd slide hook trigger. |

Musik Hug is a major European music company based in Switzerland. They're a big operation, selling all sorts of instruments and music related items as well as sheet music. Their stores include multi-story buildings in major cities.
I can't speak to this horn beyond suggesting it's likely a stencil. |

I believe the real maker for that was Ernst Modl in Germany. That style shows up on Buffet and EMO horns. _________________ BrassHistory.net
