Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I couldn’t find a recent or post or confirmed information about the state of Hetman. It seems they’ve had trouble with supply chain or demand the last couple years. I used to use their light tuning slide oil and piston oil 2, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find. Lately, piston 1 and the occasional tuning slide grease are the only things I’ve seen in stock.
Anyone have more information on Hetman and their current state of production? My local shops say that Hetman won’t even pick up their phones anymore to update on deliveries, but nothing has been confirmed about what’s going on over there… |

I gave up trying to find Hetman and have been using Berp for the past 2 years. It is much better IMHO. It comes in 3 grades.

Hi Jerry,
That’s interesting. I’m on Dillon right now and only Piston 1 is in stock. 2 and 3 are both listed as out of stock. Same situation with WWBW and most other retailers I’m finding on Google. |

ABurke - I also gave up on recurring availability issues of Hetman’s oils about two years ago. I tried multiple brands of oils/viscosities and settled on Monster Oil Eco-Pro, lite and heavy viscosities. They have worked better and lasted longer between re-oiling in my horns compared to other manufacturer’s oils.
If you’re stuck on Hetmans, I wish you better luck finding it than I experienced.

So sorry. I made the wrong assumption when the photo showed a bootle of #2 and didn't say Out of Stock. |

I've heard it's bad to switch between synthetic valve oil and regular valve oil but does the same apply between synthetic oils with similar or same viscosity? I have a bunch of Yamaha synthetic oil and I'd rather use them than buy more Hetman #2. _________________ 81 Bb Bach Stradivarius 37/25 ML raw - Vincent Bach Corp. 5C

I'll likely be switching to Yamaha synthetic oil as well, if the lack of Hetman continues. Hetman makes a great product. I hope they can turn things around.

I recently received an e-mail from Austin Custom Brass saying they now have Hetman in stock. But I have been having good results with Berp so I am not going back to Hetman.
