Hey
I’m looking for the best trp/flugel case with good wheels that fits in the overhead on a plane.

I’ve had the proTec vax model and it lasted one roadtrip and a wheel came off. So not that one please.

For the last ten years or so I’ve used a pelican type case brand name “nunak”
And took the insides out of the aforementioned protec, and that worked pretty good but it’s pretty ratty now.

I want GOOD, and carry-on size. Those are the two main things i need. Surprising how hard it is to find something like that. Maybe does not exist?

I second the Gard bags. They make good products.

Darn. Was gonna recommend that one.

What do you mean by "a shell came off"?

Near impossible to find but a Walt Johnson Trpt/Flug Combo with wheels is designed for overhead compartments.

I have no experience with the Gard cases that have been mentioned.

In my experience, if a flight attendant sees wheels on a bag (even if it’s well within the limits), they make it a point to tell the passenger to check it…

The vax protec wheels were cheap and not replaceable

As far as i can tell, there are no Gard trumpet flugel wheelie cases available.

I ordered the Marcus bona leather wheelie case, for about $600 form chuck levin music store. Should get it Saturday hoping its nice, and has quality wheels
