Hello to all,

My name is Guido, 39 yrs old and I'm from The Netherlands.
I have been playing trumpet since I was 4 yrs old (I started on a Pan American cornet, then later played/owned various trumpets like a Kanstul Custom, Yamaha 8335, Holton Al Hirt signature model, Couesnon, Olds Ambassador, Courtois Evolution II, and I have some more I eventually studied drums (jazz) at the Conservatory but never stopped playing the trumpet.

I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some information about a trumpet I recently found in a yard sale. I'm not sure if this is the right place or topic, and I haven't figured out yet how to upload photos - but maybe someone can tell me more about this instrument just by my description. Here goes;

It's a silver plated vintage trumpet, the bell is engraved with "Artist, Fabrication Française, F. Besson, Paris, Made in France"
And then there is a number underneath, I think it is "142" but it could be "442". I don't see a serial number on the valve casing or on the leadpipe, and I haven't checked the valves yet. It has a ring on the third valve slide, located at the bottom of the slide. My English isn't great and I don't know how to properly call/describe it, but it seems like both the main tuning slide and the third valve slide are reversed. That's something I haven't seen on any Besson trumpet so far, so it makes me wonder if this trumpet has been modified after production. If I could upload some pictures it will be more clear probably.. any tips for uploading photos? I have some photos on my Instagram account...

Any help / information about this F. Besson trumpet is appreciated!

Thanks,
Guido
