Proud owner of two Symphony Dual Bores. Would like to get one completely overhauled and lacquered. Any recommendations on who would do the best job?

Thanks!

Charlie Melk and Dr. Valve, among many.

In addition to Charlie Melk (Charlie's Brass Works, Atlanta area) and Dr. Valve (Steve Winans, Chicago area), the following seem to be well-regarded:

Josh Landress (J. Landress Brass, NYC)
Rich Ita (Rich Ita's Brass Instrument Workshop, Atlanta area)
Dana Hofer (Dana Hofer Brass Repair, Chicago)

The following also have excellent reputations, but may be less inclined to take on restoration work at this stage in their careers:

Mark Metzler (Metzler Brass, Elkhart IN) - focusing on valve rebuilding
Robb Stewart Brass (Santa Clarita, CA) - easing into retirement
Jim Becker (Osmun Music, Boston) - moved on to Yamaha Ateliers

Halflip gave you excellent options. Call them. If they can’t/won’t do it, they are likely to send you in the right direction.

Charlie Melk did a perfect overhaul/restoation for me on a King Silver Sonic Symphony Super 20. I highly recommend him.

Love Charlie Melk's work. Can also recommend Josh Landress. Good luck!

Rich Ita did an amazing job on my Super 20 Silversonic cornet

But Charlie Melk and Josh Landress are also amazing as well as is Mike Del Quadro.
