Good Morning Friends,
Purchased one of these not too long ago and I love it. I just don't really know all that much about it. I know there's been countless discussions about Selmer Paris horns, but maybe someone can enlighten me as to the intent behind the horn. I believe it to be a Pro-level horn, but perhaps one of you fine historians can educate me a little further. Thanks a bunch! _________________ 1910 Holton "New Proportion" Cornet

Could you post some photos?
That will help and all of us can see how it is for future questions!

It's not a grand prix, it's just a Selmer model 22. Them putting grand prix on all the Selmer horns was like saying blue ribbon or high quality. It wasn't a model number. It means grand prize.
The Grands Prix is not a model, its just advertising about instrument competitions they won -- its just part of the phrase "Grands Prix Geneve 1927 Barcelona 1929 Liege 1930" on the bell. At some point the dates became stale and they "took the ad down", but it didn't indicate a change in the trumpet design. _________________ Current horns

Ya know, I'm pretty sure I knew that. My mistake. All the same, I haven't see too many other model 22s. Regardless of its pedigree, it plays beautifully for how old it is. Thanks for course correction chef8489. Appreciate it. _________________ 1910 Holton "New Proportion" Cornet

Thank you for the link, krax. Actually learned quite a bit. I'm new to the world of Selmer Paris. For the most part, I've been a tried and true Holton fan. However, the Selmer is a work of art. I enjoy playing it, and I've seen plenty of 24s and even a few 19s. But the 22 was new to me. Appreciate the info! _________________ 1910 Holton "New Proportion" Cornet
