While working on phrasing/air control I challenged myself to play the first half of this etude in one breath.
I actually still had air left after playing this phrase, probably enough for another 8 measures.
When I first started practicing this, I was running out of air at the 4th line.

Congratulations. I have also been working on breathing and find a goal such as yours a very practical way to set a goal and work towards achieving it.
My first goal was to play Clark 2n study etude in one breath, which I have attained. Next goal it to make it all the way through that 2x in one breath. _________________ Larry Woods

That’s #45 in the Clarke book, right? That looks tough to do in one breath! I’ll give it a try. _________________ Thane Performance, 72 Red Brass Bell

Not only impressive breath control but also great job playing with nice tone and control. Well done! Love the sound of the Thane too (though the player gets most of the credit). _________________ Selmer Radial II

Thanks for the compliment! There’s a lot to be said about a horn that makes you addicted to practicing. _________________ Thane Performance, 72 Red Brass Bell
