Hi, folks!

For a long time there has been a sticky post in this forum listing places where first, second, and possibly third generation students of Mr. Adam teach. However, most of the info in that thread was 5 or more years old. Given that many of us have relocated (possibly multiple times) since then, it seemed like a good time to start a new updated thread.

If you (or your teacher or frequent section mate) is a William Adam student (or a student of Adam students) actively teaching, please contribute to this thread. I think we should definitely include people teaching at any kind of college or music school, but independant, freelance, and part time teachers should be included in a new listing.

Please include the name of the school or city/region of the world where people are teaching, and if they were not a student of Mr. Adam for a fairly long period of time (arbitrarily let's say 30 lessons minimum) list any Adam students they may have studied with (we seem to be calling these folks "second generation" Adam students).

I'll start. I'm Pat Harbison and I recently retired from Indiana University and am currently living in the Louisville, Kentucky area. I'm available for in person lessons at my home, zoom lessons (a less effective method in my opinion), and guest residencies as a clinician and jazz soloist.

John Rommel (Adam student) and John Raymond (2nd generation-Bob Baca student) continue the Adam legacy at IU.

Ansyn Banks is the jazz trumpet professor at the University of Louisville.

Please add to the list.

I'm excited and honored to announce that I have accepted a position as Clinical Professor of Jazz Trumpet at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. I'll still be living in New Albany, IN (greater Louisville, KY), but I will be spending a few days in Champaign-Urbana most weeks.

Greetings! My name is John Zappa and I teaching the trumpet studio at Northern Kentucky University!

I studied with Pat Harbison 1989-1995 and with Bill Adam from 1993-2000. Northern Kentucky U is in the greater Cincinnati area with access to a thriving music scene of all types. (pop, jazz, classical) with many opportunities for listening and gigging.

Dr. Eric Siereveld, professor of trumpet at University of Louisiana at Monroe, studied with Bill Adam at IU, if I'm not mistaken.
