Anyone have info on who in the NYC area might have the 190m37x and 19072x in stock to try?

I’m in Boston and would like to know the same thing ~ when are the new horns going to hit the shelves? Including the 17043GYR. Thanks!

This early in the product lifecycle probably the best way to get one in your hands at a local shop is to have them order one for you.

True. Unfortunately that usually means it's treated as a special order and you are obligated to buy. For most stores I suspect the typical buyer is a high school kid's parent, who won't know anything about the new models, so the stores are in no rush to get new stock. In NYC and Boston there are stores with national reputations. I'm surprised they don't have stock yet. I did notice the new models are listed on wwbw.com but either back ordered or arriving later in June.

Could be that they are sending the first horns out to Europe and Asia, where the prices are higher.

After the new Bach trumpets were announced, I went to my local music store to see if/when they would have them. They didn't have any, and didn't seem to know when they would have them in stock.

I did come home with a new Yamaha 8310Z II, and could not be happier!

I'm pretty sure the local brass-centric music store here in the subtropics has at least two of the new Bachs, although I must admit when I was last in there it was before I was familiar with the nomenclature of the new horns and so cannot say what models they were/are, if they are spoken for, etc.

Be aware they revamped the 19043 and 19037, so if the store has these models, it could be the pre march-may 2023 revamped versions. It has to have a serial number 0f 800,000 or higher to be the new models.

I'd like to see Bach publish a release date on their web site. Something like "Most authorized dealers will have these to sell beginning X date".

They were in a display case. My eye was drawn to them because the bells said Bach but the engraving / decoration around it was different from a Strad, Artisan, or Anniversary. This was a few weeks ago now, and I cannot say if they are still in stock. I later ran into the owner at a band concert we were both in and he confirmed in passing that they had new Bachs. Don't know if they were 190s, 180s, or 170s.

Those were most like the last gen 190 series ie pre this release. The new ones look like this with the Corperation back on them.

Neat! They really 'snazzed up' the signature.

I see that both the Bach and Conn-Selmer websites are reflecting the new horns exclusively, so I would assume it is mostly just a matter of working through the reorder process by all of the retailers.

I wonder if they are still doing split production or otherwise slowing output though. I noticed that Build-a-Bach is still allowing configuration and ordering of the old models, and as Bait & Switch carries criminal consequences in some states, I have to assume this means they are still building custom old models as well. That would inevitably slow down the flow of new models.

It sounds like they have at least one hit on their hands with the new Apollo, so hopefully the bottleneck clears quickly.

I would think your best bet would be checking with Josh Landress

Bach could easily move their inventory by selling the older instruments at a good discount and make way for the new stock.

I'm sure they could once they caught up on production of the new horns. They could sell the older 190 horns at a slight discount.

I love my 190 horn and would love to try the new 190 series horns as well as the 170 series.
