This a Bach question.
In the '90s, and in passing, I tried out a Bach student horn. I am not sure, but I believe that these student models changed and maybe even had different non-Bach sources. Would anyone know what the 90s model student horns are? Thanks. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

On ebay and reverb I see a lot of TR200, TR300, and TR500's that say they're from the 1990's, but I have no idea if they're correct, many don't research or don't realize changes in serializing, so say one year, that I know is not possible. Like Olds made in Elkhart. But I'm not real familiar with newer Bachs, although I did look some and remember that the number convention for those three as far as student/intermediate quality is deceptive. _________________ Olds Super('54)

There was a Selmer Bundy designed by Vincent Bach if that is what you are referring to. _________________ Current horns

Not an expert, but in my recollection, that's unusual, as the Bach's usually just say "Bach", I think. Only one I recall using the full name is that Bundy, engraved on the bell:
"Bundy"
" designed by"
Vincent Bach" _________________ Olds Super('54)

I meant Vincent Bach to mean a Bach vs. Bundy, nothing else. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

I think during the 90's, the BACH USA beginner lines were the TR 1541 and TR 300. The 1541 was pretty much the Bundy design from the mid 70's and the TR 300 had better Nickel plated nickel valves, a main tuning slide brace, and sometimes a 1st slide thumb saddle.
The TR 200 was a "step up" line, like the older Mercedes II. There were a couple of iterations of the 200, one that had the Strad like valveset, and one that had a valve set like the TR300. The 200's had a Strad based !number 7 I have heard) lead pipe. The 200 that had the Strad like valveset (pistons did interchange from my experience) had a 2 piece Strad 43 based bell, the 200 with the 300 valveset had a different gold brass bell. More recently, the Omega line fills that niche.
My trumpet PHD repair guru likes the TR200 gold brass bell model for young players due to the robust construction and tonal quality. _________________ huntman10

+1
The Bundy trumpet of older years was rebranded TR300 with a few updates.

Thank you, guys. Do you know how the weights felt of the 200 and 300 in relation to other trumpets? _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

It has been years since I weighed one (I often weigh and measure when I list on eBay) but I am certain the Bach USA line was fairly light, but about like a Yamaha 232 series, perhaps lighter than Getzen and King beginners of that period. However, both the 1541 and 300 line trumpets have a wrap that centers the weight around the hand hold area.
Look at the pix on eBay, they almost look like C trumpets if you look at the side view! That may make them feel lighter, IMHO. I think that may be the aspect "Designed by Vincent Bach" for the Bundy, which was really simply an adaptation of tooling and parts Selmer had from the acquisition of the Harry Pedlar company, I have been told.
All this is merely my experience from years of stalking pawn shops and garage sales! _________________ huntman10

I checked my vast collection of Bach catalogues, no weights for non Strads. But I had a couple of sets of parts for the 1541 (not assembled) and I believe the actual weight would be approximately 2 lb 5 oz. _________________ huntman10
