We just left the Fox in Atlanta after seeing Hairspray. The Trumpet sounded great. Does anyone know who is the pit? Thanks

I was there, too. I agree the trumpet was great.....Lots of lip slurs or shakes!
The program says "Trumpet-John Johnson."

Thanks! Dah! I hadn't looked at the program. I know the trend now is too hire an orchestra, like the performers, who travel with the musical. John Johnson is from California. If you were young and like to travel it would be a great gig.

I just saw this in LA a few weeks back and the lead player was a beast! Even my non-trumpet-playing family members mentioned it. I do recall that the program also listed the local players that were brought in including an additional trumpet whose name I don't recall.

Trumpet players should see this show. They won't be disappointed.
