Hello all! I think the title speaks for itself. I’m looking into maybe getting a new leadpipe on my 1970 Bach 229L. Reason I say Melk or Winans is because I know both have a great reputation for making new and improved versions of Bach leadpipes for the older horns. I had Charlie Melk restore an old NY Bach Bb that he had to replace the leadpipe with one of his own since the old one had red rot, and I love it. Just want to get peoples opinions specifically with the C trumpet leadpipes of both these makers to maybe make a more informed decision. Thanks!
