Oddly enough, I don't feel like my 991 has an overtly bright or focused sound, although all of our conceptions of such adjectives are different. It's very powerful and efficient, true, but on an 'ordinary' C cup I don't think it is notably brighter than my Bach 72 bell. With a commercial / lead mouthpiece it can be very cutting, but OTOH with a B cup or deep V the sound is quite dark and diffused.

Mariachi Los Camperos de Nato Cano were world renown and Grammy Award-winning. They were the first mariachi to perform at Carnegie Hall, in addition to Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center.

Rosendo Cervantes was the lead trumpet in the original line-up, when they rose to fame (pictured in the back row on the right):

One of my favorite examples of his music:

That fine trumpeter on the recording sounds like his influences were Harry James and Herb Alpert, shifting in style between the two. I mean that as a compliment.

I'm not versed enough to compare, but that's certainly a high compliment.
