Howdy!

To start this off, I'm primarily a trombonist turned into part time trumpet player, ala a wannabe trombone shorty. I play in a local country/rock band, as well as a funk band. I'm currently playing a Gen 2 Edwards, and it just feels like it's not the horn for me. I feel like I have to really put the gas on it to make it speak. So I'm letting that horn go (if anyone wants it, dm/email me), and looking for something lighter. My issue is that I'm REALLY into aesthetics of instruments, and things like Adams/Harrelson/Lotus looking trumpets are at the top of my list. Currently looking at an Adams A1V2, Brasspire Unicorn, Harrelson Bravura, and a Harrelson H model. I'm primarily looking for an ML horn, with either a brushed finish or unlacquered, brass only horns. The bigger the bell diameter, the better! Let me know if you've got other suggestions! I'd look to trade my Edwards plus about $750 in cash as well. Thanks for reading my wall of text!

As a trombonist who started trying to double on trumpet, over the course of 20 years turned into a full-time trumpet player, and then later returned to the trombone as a double...

Just learn how to double on the trumpet. Don't worry about what the horn looks like, just try out as many trumpets as you can and find one that is the least-difficult to double on. Rather boring trumpets, like a Getzen Capri and Selmer K-Modified 24B, served me for years before I launched into the search for a perfect (and generally increasingly-expensive) trumpet.

If the aesthetics really matter to you and you are already looking at two Harrelson trumpets, then contact Jason Harrelson to see what he can do for you. His instruments are very well made and I believe he accepts trade ins. Good luck!
