When this forum was first started, I don't believe there was the American interest in cornets there is now. I remember when the only players in concert band that played cornets were those whose parents couldn't afford a good trumpet, as the cornet fell so much out of favor with players between the end of WWII and the 70's when I was in school band. And flugel was used mostly for jazz ballads. But now, with the rise of British-style brass bands - NABBA, expanded interest in trad jazz and ragtime, to say nothing of civil war and late-19th century reenactment bands, the expansion of flugel repertoire, and other interests, it is time to separate the Cornet/Flugel topic so that each has its own separate topic. Thanks. Now, it is time for me to go practice my Bach CR301 (formerly known as a King 602), Reynolds Argenta, B&H Globe Stamp, and my newly acquired 1911 York & Sons Perfec-Tone.

And the full blossoming of good, inexpensive flugelhorns has been expansive.

Flugelhorn mouthpieces alone are a big subject.

I'd like to see everything FL in one section.
