Hi! I'm really getting along well with my Shew 8310z gen 1, i like the tight but still free blowing (tha's how i feel anyway) feel.

What are some other step bore/m bore/72 style bell horns you know of?

I already know Schilke B7, Bach vindabona and so on. Do you know other brand that make the same style of trumpet?

Thank you TH!

Stomvi VRII is a step or poly bore. They come in 4 configurations.

Charlie Melk put one of his 8310z -specific leadpipes on mine, and it’s great.

This mod might be worth a try for you. Less expensive than buying a horn, too.

Try the Miyashiro. It's similar to the Shew in many ways, but larger, and with a 5 1/4" bell.

Well, I've owned two Shews and never really got along with them but - I don't know what that means because I don't have a problem playing medium-bore horns like Committee, Schilke B-7, etc.

I was playing on a B&S Exquisite for a long time.
I prefer it than the 8310Z, more core, and projection.

Very happy with this trumpet.
Safe and secure targeting, nice resonant sound, great projection, Bach character on the sound.
A bit smaller bell than that I prefer.

I was feeling a bit smaller the M trumpet than I need, more at the periods with a lot of work...

Maybe a bigger bell was the perfect solution, but i sold it.

Many small issues about the quality of construction, the valves.
Nothing to serious, but many small problems for this price tag.
