Mendez' vibrato -- Hand or lip?

How does Mendez do his vibrato?

Is in hand or lip??

Lip.

On one of the clinic tapes in the Mendez Library, Mendez describes it in his heavy Spanish accent......"we make dee vibrato with dee leeps."

He also mentioned there that after a tough day of practice he liked to massage his "leeps" with his wife's "leeps." He knew how to entertain his clinic audiences and was very personable.

Well, the tapes have not yet been transcribed. We will get to that someday and see how we can make them available for people to read. Probably way too long for this forum.
