Years ago I used to practise out of this book.

I thought it was an excellent Etude and theory book at the time.

I would like to find this book again but can't seem to find it .

Any of you TH members recall this book. Any ideas where it might be available.

Thanks!

I have the book in my library so here's some extra info that may help you locate another copy:

Fay Hanson, "Brass Playing, Mechanism & Technic", Carl Fisher publ, c1963, rev1975.

Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately, it looks like the book is out of print. It was really a great book. It had some interesting text, including ideas on bending mouthpieces(which I have never seen in any other book), and some really good etudes. Every time I go by a used book store I take a look for this book. Now if I could only remember who borrowed this book from me!

It wasn't me, it was DBacon!

I had a lesson in Chicago from a symphony player in about '72, and he said the only good trumpet player west of the Mississippi was Fay Hanson.

A while back I was able to obtain this book thru my local library. So if you're interested just go to your local library and they will borrow the book from the library that owns a copy. It is a fantastic book!

That book seems to have a fast learning curve. Is anyone here using it?
