But how many of you actually enjoy ska music? For me...all I have to say is I wish there were more guitar players around (besides me) who weren't into the all hardcore stuff. Or else I would be in one!

I can't get enough of it!

I'm weird because I play in a rock band, but I'm not ska's greatest fan, nor am I its greatest adversary. I don't care for it, but I don't loathe it either.

I like a lot of the first wave stuff. Im kinda inbetween "cant get enough of it" and "its ok once in a while". I like how its a mix of reagge and punk. Its pretty cool.

Mix of 'reggae and punk' is usually referred to as the third wave. Less Than Jake, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, Catch-22. Tons of bands, a lot of great tunes, but I dont think there is any skapunk band that I would LOVE! Some Less Than Jake tunes, seems like they just ran out of ideas, but still had to fill out the CD. On the other hand they have great tunes.

I love two-tone ska, and the Toasters! And of course the Skatalites. Their drummer grooooooooooooves! First wave ska, the real thing. But some of their stuff is badly recorded, out of tune, mainly early recordings that I've heard. But still, the good stuff, is REALLY good.

Ska's influence can be heard in bands like No Doubt as well. They even named an album Rocksteady, which was a transition genre from ska to reggae. Ska is dance music, rocksteady is kind of like a ska-ballad maybe? We all know what reggae is.... But in their music videos, they sometimes even have the little checkered black and white two-tone thing going on. I could go on for days....

Less Than Jake describe themselves as "Punk" on the only CD of theirs I have.

Madness were/are a ska band. Now they're fantastic!

LTJ also associate themselves with 'skacore'!

I havent listened to the madness that much, i have a compilation of two-tone bands, with a bunch of madness tunes on it. 2nd wave, for those who care.
