I'm itchin' to buy some CDs, so I'm interested in any opinions of these 2 recordings by the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra:

Live in Swing City - Swingin' With Duke

Jazz at Lincoln Center - They Came to Swing

Thanks,
Tim

I'd rather hear the music from Duke Ellington.

I've heard that from alot of people... why do you say that?? Duke wrote and performed so much beautiful music but isn't it nice to hear music by a band thats still around and made the recordings recently? Man if everyone thought about that we wouldn't need jazz players anymore...

if you can find them i recomend you trying to find some Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra Recordings. Gary Smoly is a crucial Bari Player. good band.
