I spent about 25-35 minutes today doing some inverted stamps....

... and I think I am in love.

what a great variation on the real deal.

Just out of curiousity:

Can you be a little more specific?

On the basic stamp warm up... the one that has C-D-C-G-A-G-C

Instead of playing the higher interval, I like to play a half step lower than the original note... and bend down to it... like this

C-B-C-G-F#-G-C and then do the original excersise... trying to keep my air and sound focus straight through the horn rather than "playing the interval".... I hate explaining stuff on here it just never does it justice.

anyway, I love it

In what do you feel it is helping you?
It is good to try new things.

Well, I like to try and keep from 'broadcasting' the next interval.... I am trying to keep the tone COLOR and pitch as stable as possible through the intervals.

I tend to play a little sharp on the half notes, so doing the inverted stamps allows me to keep the intervals and the sound on the same 'plane'.

Cool?
