Yeah it's filled with 'em!
I like it. Lots of good advice, both about trumpet playing and (more importantly to me, since there's lots of books on trumpet playing) about your role, responsibilities, and duties as a leader. (It's a book for the lead trumpeter, not about beginners, BTW.) Coming from Jimmy Maxwell, there's lots of good, solid advice from the trenches -- or, the front lines, as the case may be!

Yes, a very good book. He has some interesting mouthpiece drills in his range study that were good for me, after I recovered from overdoing it at first. My own results were good with a maximum of 10 minutes of mouthpiece stuff per day. You might even do that sort of study every other day. Lots of good style things from a guy who knows how it should be played. I've heard that Jimmy doesn't play much now, but he is very solid on the recordings I have of him. All the best to you, Mr. Phrenzy. _________________ God's Peace,

Jimmy's book contains good solid information.
He passed away a few months ago.
There was a wonderful tribute concert for Jimmy in NYC.
There is information about it at one of the out Forum groups
