Any ideas on this guys? I don't think they make Crown Royal that big. I could go to a fabric store and get a piece of velvet or something...anyone else have any ideas? Thanks and all the best, Lex. _________________ Mpcs: Jim New-Manley Jazz1/Jazz2/Jazz4/Lead3. Legends MF1. Reeves 39EX/HV. Frost 39MVD. Flugel: Jim NewMF3. Jim New-Manley F1+F2. Pickett MF. put a stocking cap over the flugel bell.....probably a small kids size. It will work great.... of course the thickness of the material will make a difference. Make sure it colorful or has a ball on the end of it.... something that will humor the audience abit.
I have several crown royal bags around... guess I've never tried to squeeze one over the flugel bell. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/hughes1946

I dunno.. I'm just really upset that they don't sell the Crown Royal bag in CANADA any longer! You've gotta go to the USA to get one!

Crown Bags come at least 3 different sizes (I've heard.....). Maybe you just need to buy a bigger bottle on your way home tonite _________________ Sparks in Daytona

walk into most any bar and they will usually have a few of them under the counter.... I've played a few places where the owner would bring out a box of them and said take as many as you want or take them all. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/hughes1946

Gee Lex, aren't you still playing a 1525 like me? They make that bell out of copper so you can squish it into the bag, don't they?? |

OK Lex, I took the liberty of confirming for you: The largest bag, from a litre I believe, easily fits over the bell of my Olds CT w/ a 6 1/2" bell. I don't know of anything larger than that.
Good luck man! _________________ Sparks in Daytona

You guys are....AWESOME!!!! Thanks so much!! Especially to Bill for the link. I ordered two 1.75L bags..I'm not a CR man myself..too sweet..(I'm more of a JD man:wink: )
Ray - Yeah, I still got my Kanstul 1525 Copper Bell...it's working out GREAT! I know what you mean by the copper bell though....I play it all the time on gigs, late night jam sessions, I walk around NYC with it....travel with it...And, man, that copper dings up pretty easily! I don't care though...I look at them as 'characteristic signatures' and as long as it keeps playing well with that great sound, I'm happy! All the best, Lex. _________________ Mpcs: Jim New-Manley Jazz1/Jazz2/Jazz4/Lead3. Legends MF1. Reeves 39EX/HV. Frost 39MVD. Flugel: Jim NewMF3. Jim New-Manley F1+F2. Pickett MF. Reeves HF.
