Hi all,
I have just ordered the Buzzing book, and was wondering which buzz aid James Thompson recommends. Is it the BERP (www.berp.com) or the brass buzzer (www.brassbuzzer.com).
Thanks!

The book mentions both, but from what I understand, Mr. Thompson uses the Brass Buzzer. (brassbuzzer.com) I have been using it for the past few weeks and love it. I find it FAR superior to the BERP, which while a good idea, doesn't seem to work, for me at least. I have nothing but praise for the brass buzzer.

I agree completely that the Brass Buzzer is far superior to the BERP. Thompson does use the Brass Buzzer, and they are in such demand at Eastman that the Eastman Book Store has them in stock.

For me there are several advantages. First off, the Brass Buzzer is inserted into the receiver, not clamped onto it (like the BERP, where the device always seemed to want to slide around). Secondly, the mouthpiece is simply held by the BB, not inserted into a sleeve. Thirdly, the BB creates the same sensation as buzzing the mouthpiece, not the stuffy or otherwise restricted sensation of the BERP. Even with none of the holes of the BERP covered it still was, to me, a very resistant device.
Hope that helps

Try a buzz aid from Windsong Press.
I've found this to have the best results.
