I am on several other CDs with other people. I am excited to find out that a compilation of things I recorded with David Baker's 21st Century Bebop Band in the early '80s is going to be released in the spring (for the first time on CD). The band (a septet which was together for a couple of years) included Baker on cello, Harvey Phillips-tuba, David Kay-saxes, Jim Beard-piano, Robert Hurst-bass, & Shawn Pelton-drums. I'll let you know when it hits the street.

I'm glad you like it. I'll autograph it for you sometime.
I'm currently planning recording sessions this summer for a new CD that ought to be ready in the late fall or early winter of 2003. This time it will be with my working quintet and will feature mostly original compositions by me and the other group members. I'll keep you posted.
P.S. My band is always looking for gig opportunities. I'd appreciate a note if any of you have any ideas or leads for me. We especially do a mean high school or college concert/festival and I love doing a clinic or master class as part of the package.
Sorry for the blatant plug. However, this is a really good band and if I can't shill to my TH friends who can I hit on? |
