UCLA music has received a $30 million endowment from noted trumpet player, artist and philanthropist, Herb Alpert. We will now be called the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music.

Audition dates for next year's trumpet studio are February 2 and February 9, 2008. Application dealines are December 1 although some late applications will be accepted.

Hope to hear from you if you are interested in studying with me in Los Angeles.

Jens:

That's great! Does this mean new audition materials?:

A Taste of Honey
Casino Royale
The Lonely Bull

Oh, I'm sorry. That's the previous list, right?

On a serious note that's a wonderful gesture by Mr. Alpert. I wish I had $30 mil to donate

What a great thing to hear about! We are so lucky when we get to give to things bigger than ourselves. WTG Herb!

Well, that will just about cover Jens' salary this year...

Wonder if Herb will donate some more money to UCLA for a new football coach...

Sorry--BYU alum, couldn't resist it.
