Good....maybe I'll get off your $#!+ list.

Hey thedevilisbad, how about this one, my main trumpet - a silver Bach Strad? You can't get much plainer than that.

Beautiful! I love that well worn, vintage, amberish, golden glow of the "old-school" lacquer...especially on a Committee.....wait...I have no lacquer on mine...

Here's another shot of the Committee (I think that's the sign of red rot on the valve block Anyone know what can be done with it?). Click to enlarge both photos.

Hmmm... that *does* look like red-rot.

If it were me, I would keep playing it, clean it frequently, and when it finally rots out totally, have a pro reassemble to whatever valve block I could get my hands on (Committee or no), and accept the fact that I have a fantastic Frankenhorn no longer worth a few grand. Hopefully the experts have a better idea for you.

Actually I just ventured over to Charlie Melk's shop (isn't it great living 10 minutes away?!) and he determined that it actually isn't red rot...but something to do with the lacquer that won't hurt the brass. Whew, what a relief!

Not especially exotic or interesting, but this is my S42 with Schilke-made rounded tuning slide, Curry bottom caps and ring replacing the hook.[/img]

Ana, sounds like you don't have it any longer... Who knows, it might be the same..?

I am struggling with the idea of exchanging the mouthpiece reciever so that it will accept normal mouthpieces better, but I do not like the thought of modifying an instrument that I probably won't find again in the same condition.

Hey Krax, I hate to break it to ya....but your Musicraft trumpet has some "wrinkles" minor, but multiple dings in the bell...

So I'll gladly take it off your hands...hey I'll even pay for shipping!

Actually, it is mostly raw brass. I polished it as soon as I got it back from Charlie Melk in July so it has darkened that much since then. Still does not have a patina, but it is slowly starting to turn.

Geez, I hoped that you didn't notice... And you say it is bad? Well, then I have to seriously consider your very kind offer, but I have to warn you as shipping prices in Sweden are very high and then comes the conversion rate. Anyway, gentlemen like you are rare these days, thanks for pointing it out to me.

Ok, away with the bullsh*t, you woldn't like it. You are a Committee player. Now, this is a bright bastard, its edgy sound would split your mellow and smokey ears in two parts. And the cut would be so sharp that you would be able to glue them pieces back again. So, no, it is best for you to stay away!

Really nice tarnish on your Committee, by the way. I've understood that you use silicone to protect it, does it help covering the smell of raw brass as well?

My favorite picture of my trumpet bling, my '58 Olds Ambassador cornet:

Dale, your strad is in very nice shape...

Hmm. I debated about that one. Couldn't tell the bell size too well in that picture. It looked much bigger than the horn above it, but old horns like that usually have really small bells. The finish should have given that away too!

Lets try later 22B?

Victor to be precise ...They are very deceptive as the valve block is taller than any other trumpet I have.
The other 2 are lesser known, one from USA the other Czech.

OK this is probably really wrong, but is it a millard, my cornet has the same styling. The mpc reciver furrels etc.

I do notice that it has a stuck 3rd valve...

I almost bought a Getzen Super delux like that, well 2 of em actually.

S/N was one number off each other if I remember correctly one was the Sterling bell, and the other was the regular bell.

I got my millard instead.

I am still torn over what I should have gotten.
