Hi John,

I believe Dr. McGrail is still practicing occasionally in Halifax, though he is now quite elderly. I underwent lip surgery with him in 2011 and have been collecting and aggregating information on lip injuries since 2010.

I frequently consult with injured players, and I'd be happy to give your friend any information I can. I don't have all the answers, but I can often connect injured players with additional resources (including former patients of Dr. McGrail and Dr. Vander Kolk). Please feel free to point him in the direction of my site, lipriblues.com. He can contact me using the contact form there.

Keep your chops healthy!

What happened to him happened to me about 10 years ago. Feel free to have him send me an email through my site if he wants some help.

Hi John,
This thread is quite an object lesson. More folks should read it.

try this site for Dr. Vander Kolk:
http://embouchurecare.com/

Looks like he has put together a team to deal with embouchure issues.
