Hi,

A friend of mine who studied with Bob Slack showed me the Colicchio Exercises. They really help me
with range, focus, and endurance. Is this something Mr. Adam used in his studio, and if so, can anyone explain how he advocated using them in daily practice?

Thank you,
Jaimie Hall

Adam used these with me. I know that he also used them with Chris Botti. My suspicion is that those of us who were jazzheads found them interesting and he was trying to keep us engaged. He had me sing each line slowly and then play it. After I could sing and play each line on a page, I would sing/play two lines at a time before taking the horn off my face. This would expand until I was singing an entire page and then playing it.

Pat,
Thank you for your thoughtful and fast response. Those sound like some great practice strategies for getting the most out of those challenging studies.
