More conventionally. this is DNFTT (do not feed the troll).
Totally ignoring a troll is more effective that DNFTT, but DNFTT is far preferable to trying to reason with a troll.

I guess I'll just wait till it gets ready to swing its big ol' club at you, whip out my wand and perform a Leviosa spell, then while its looking dumbfounded because it doesnt know what happened to its club, I'll let the thing drop on its head and knock it unconscious.......watch out for those Troll bogeys! hehehe
