|
|
My wife was asking what I want next and suggested a kindle, something I had not really considered before.
But it got of thinking.... I believe sheet music can be displayed on one.
Does anyone have any experience of this? What's your verdicts? _________________ My first reply was witty and

I read all the time on my Kindle, as does my wife (on hers) since I converted her to new fangled gizmos.
Never tried to put Docs on it and think it would be too small to be much use. I've toyed with puting sheet music on my Ipad (which is bigger) but still haven't gotten round to trying it. _________________ "Nearly as good as I need to be. Not nearly as good as I want to be".

Found a great App to put sheet music on the iPad . For Score, it's brilliant. You can set playlists, organise folders and even write notes on the music, with ease. I've put my whole pad on and shall try it at orchestra practise tomorrow . Page turns are instant, so no more trying to turn over in one beat rests! _________________ "Nearly as good as I need to be. Pardon my ignorance, but how does the software know when you've reached the end of the page? |

It doesn't. You just tap the screen and the new page appears. Much, much faster than I can turn a page by hand. _________________ "Nearly as good as I need to be. Not nearly as good as I want to be".

A doctor that plays in a group with me downloaded all our concert music on some type of pad and uses it when we perform. Seems to work for him. |

One of the bands I work with has two guys who regularly use their iPads for their charts. Seems to work well. Only downside I can think of is the chance of the iPad being stolen (due in part to their popularity) during breaks, but being careful to put it out of sight during breaks probably reduces the chances.

There are some pictures of the opera singer Bryn Terfel on stage singing and holding an iPad with the words on. It's on the Cory Band facebook page, at a huge concert they gave with him and some thousand + choiresters last week end. _________________ "Nearly as good as I need to be. I've heard of a kindle DX which is supposed to be larger (something like ipad size). Dont know much about it though. I'll have a look around and report my finding's. _________________ My first reply was witty and
