What do you think about Getzen GENESIS Model?

Does everyone has one of it?

Thanks
Marco

Use the search function and look for getzen genesis and edwards trumpets. You'll find more than enough information to satisfy your question. Good luck...

Jagermeister:

I played the Getzen Genesis in early August and recommend that you give it a try if you get a chance. Quality was excellent especially compared to the Getzen 3051 that I A/B'd it with. Valves - Some of the best in the business. Sound - This horn has the sound that I have been hearing in my head for a long time. Free blow, velvet sound like warm butter or a smokey club which ever you prefer. You could give it some bite as you ascend, but the mids and lows were awesome. I had just ordered a horn from another MFG for about a $1000 less then that horn, so if I hadn't, I would have given some serious thought to purchasing "that horn". Just not in the budget at this point. BTW, I really liked the more open leadpipe, but that is just a personal thing. The tighter one just felt "tighter" if that makes any sense. : )

Play what you love and love what you play.

The LIP

Rick Braun's newest album (Esperanto) shows pictures of him playing the Genesis. If this is indeed the horn used to record the album, then this trumpet is an incredibly lyrical and warm sounding instrument. The album notes simply indicate he is playing "trumpet" although many of the subtle passages sound very flugel-like.

I too am very interested in trying this instrument. I am impressed with the timbre and richness of Rick's playing on his newest album.

hey...c'mon people....SOMEBODY out there has to have at least tried the thing. I'm requesting one from my dealer to try "on approval", but my guess is with a horn like that they won't be willing to bring one down without a serious committment to purchasing it. (Though it does help to live within a relatively short distance of Elkhorn, WI). I really am dying to hear about it...it looks like a champ, but that can be misleading.

Since it's a knockoff of the Edwards Generation X it might help if you do a search for that horn on this forum.

I have a few posts about that horn.

Best,

Trent
