Can anyone tell me the difference in length between an H pipe and an A pipe?

Thank you. Another question would be...in general, are there better fits with some mouthpieces and particular leadpipes?

As a general rule of thumb many players choose to play a larger throat and backbore on their C trumpets. For example if one uses a stock Bach 1C on Bb they might play the same mouthpiece with the throat enlarged to a #24 and backbore opened to a Bach #24 (or equivelent) on C. For what ever reason this is a better match on C trumpets and are by far our two most requested mouthpiece alterations.

In Bob Osmun's article on mouthpipes used on Bach C trumepts he mentions a mouthpiece adjustment for full Bb length taper 25S and 25R pipes. Our largest parabolic (Bach #87 equivelent) really can help to open up and raise an often tight and flat high C when played these longer tapered pipes.

I hope this is helpful.
