This might sound like a silly question, but if someone has never played a Monette horn before...where would they have to go to give one a spin, other than an ITG conference? Any stores in NYC? Elsewhere?

thanks
Patrick

That's actually a very good question; I would love to try one at the Atlanta TrumpetFest in December.

If you're serious about buying a Monette it's worth every penny to fly out to Portland and try the horns at the Monette shop. http://www.monette.net

Ciao,

Trent

You can find used Monetts in the usual brass music stores. Dillon or Thompson or Reybern (sp?)
If you go to the factory call and make sure that they have what you want to try. When I went they didn't have a lot of horns to try.
I'm sure that you could find someone that plays one and ask to try it.
You can send me a private message and maybe you can play mine.

I only started this thread out of curiosity. I'm quite happy with my current gear, but I'm always open to try new horns...especially ones that garner so much chatter on this site.

well...i believe the reason that monettes are soo talked about, is because some believe it sucks, and others believe its godly. and its soo expensive, so people always debating whether its worth it or not.

just outta curiosity. what do u play now?
