MON! I've tried to reach John Mills by email and over the phone.
Do you know if he's on holiday or is touring with his band?
I need to talk to him about a horn on his online store trumpettrader.com.
Patience first of all, I know it, but if you have any other good suggestion on the best way to reach him I would appreciate it.

Thank you!
Don Tonino

I was at his shop on Tuesday and purchased a Roth-Reynold "Contempora" cornet from him. Interesting fellow. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Enjoyed meeting him for the first time in person.

I used the e-mail contact on his website and he responded very quickly.

I've done some business with him in the past two or three times and was satisfied. I hadn't seen his site months, but decided to take a peek last week.

He has greatly increased his inventory since the last time I checked and has lots of interesting horns.

I was about to jump on a rare Benge cornet, but he informed me that someone beat me to the punch.

Been to his shop many times considering that my parents live 30 minutes away.

Whew, Greeley can be the center of the world..went to school there in the late 60's...some of that town is exactly the same, like walking through a time warp..

Then you must know Bill Pfund, right? He was my high school trumpet teacher for a few years.

John is great to work with. I've dealt with him several times.
Even when we had a small issue he was polite, reasonable, and we resolved things in a hurry. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again or refer others to him.

John's the best.

I've done several deals with him over the years. Once an almost new Bach he sent me on a trade got totally lost in a big snowstorm. UPS never did find out what happened to it, but John made good on the whole deal.

I just got my new Carol from him not too long ago.

I was Bill's first student at UNC, helped him move from Omaha where he'd been teaching at UNO. were you in Greeley for H.S.?

Wow, small world! I was in Loveland, actually.

MON! thank you all for the replies, he's a serious business man indeed.
I think he was just busy... I spoke with him on saturday morning, he told me he would have sent me some pics of the horn, I'm keeping my mailbox open, I can't wait to receive those pics...

Bought my favorite horn from John, my '27 2B.

Love his Trumpet Trader T-shirt too!

John was my college trumpet teacher and jazz ensemble director. He introduced many of us to jazz improvisation, since it was a rare high school program that had more than a stage band at the time. He runs a biennial alumni jazz ensemble reunion band for his students from the mid to late 70s, and almost everybody finds their way back there to play (except me, unfortunately). That speaks volumes as to the impact he made 35 years ago on his students. I owe the man a great deal.

John is a great dude. I always love seeing him when I'm out in the Denver area and his goodies!

Best,
