The thing is, I try really hard not to run over my trumpets with any kind of car, nor do I throw them out of moving (or stopped cars), and I don't want to carry the weight of that protection on my shoulders. Further, most "damage" to instruments comes from the user failing to pack the instruments well within a case, resulting in movement and damage.
The Musical Bags/Stomvi case is hard shelled, light, well padded, and very compact. Weight fully loaded with 4 big horns, a few mutes, mouthpieces, and wrags was 18.3lbs (measured for fun at the airport). Nothing else comes close to that while being hard-shelled.

I just got mine and love it. I've used it both in the four trumpet configuration (Bb, C, long bell Eb, and Scherzer pic) and with a trumpet and flugel. Both worked great. It's very light and extremely protective. Thanks, Stomvi! _________________ www.milanomusic.com |
