Yamaha ytr 6340ST

Hello,

I might have a chance to pick one of these up for a decent price, around 600 dollars. The horns has been sitting for 24 years in its case so it needs a little service but otherwise it seemed to play well and the valves were in almost new unplayes condition. The horn hasn't probably played almost at all since it was new.

Anyone with experience with this specific model?
I'm looking to upgrade from my b&s challenger II 3172/2.

Second question is the reversed leadpipe sound suitable for jazz/big band stuff? This horn did sound alot brighter and crisper than my b&s.

I had my trumpet teacher try this particular Trumpet. Just asking for experiences before investing in this horn

I had one for a few years when they first came out. It's a good horn. Kind of wish I had kept it. It's a large bore but doesn't feel overly large. It comes from the time when Yamaha was basing some designs on Schilke's. It is fairly light weight.

The Yamaha 6340 is a very good instrument, one of my students has one, an absolute joy to play, very good sounding as well
600 is a good price as well. This large bore instrument shows that bore size say little; it feels about the same as my late Vincent Bach 180-37ML, sounds pretty much the same as well
